To Infinity and Beyond
It certainly looks like everyone's starting to settle in their new surroundings. I'm surprised that some of them even took up jobs! Not that I'm complaining... my notes and books have never been tidier, it's a hell of a time saver. I bet Albert would be jealous if he knew how I lived. Or probably not. Then there's that new innkeeper, who's even got experience in paperwork! Can you believe my luck? ...I guess I shouldn't be too glad. These people surely wish they were rather home than here.
...Man, infinite worlds, huh? There must be all kinds of uniquely interesting people out there. Thousands, I bet.

Either way, I can attend to that paperwork for you. It would be easy, and would align with my interests.

[ Not going to admit she has ulterior motives, lalala ]
Speaking of, I have a few questions I must ask of you. I will start with easy ones. How do you know Viki?
no subject
Ah, I was wondering how long it would take for the questions routine. I assume you mean Viki with the Blinking Rune? She served us in the recent war... well, both of them did. This might get confusing.
no subject
Both of them? There were two? Not to mention the incredible fact that she is even around during this time...
no subject
Yeah, although they looked like the same person, one was significantly younger. Are any of them the one you're talking about? Who knows. They're not the most forthright bunch when it comes to straight answers. And now they're long gone...

My other question is why you were eavesdropping on me.
no subject
I needed to make sure you explained everything to him, that's all. Just normally I don't get threatened with a sword when I do that...

[ She takes a coin -- his coin -- out of her pocket and flicks it at him, clearly unimpressed. ]
no subject
[ Catches it, but fumbles a little and almost drops it. ]
--you know, it's bad luck taking coins out of a wishing well. Besides, we'll be doing this a lot if the time-traveling trend continues, I expect my assistant to help out without my aid!
no subject
[ She crosses her arms, glaring at him. ]
And I expect you to not eavesdrop on me, and perhaps trust that I can do my job. But that's neither here nor there, because I hardly suspect that was why you were listening in.
no subject
[ He holds his coin up and vacantly stares at it, not really paying attention to Agnes' body language. ]
That's some intuition. So what do you think is the reason, then?

You're naive to think that this whole thing revolves around you. I'm in a difficult position myself, and I believe that I can gauge a person's character better based on their interactions with others rather than with me.
Do you find my methods unethical? You're hardly the person to lecture me on that...
no subject
... And what would you know about my ethics?
no subject
...
As for your ethics, perhaps it's best to say I don't have a clue, right? Poisoning people?
no subject
Hmph. You don't even know the context of such an act.
no subject
[ Definitely showing no signs of remorse. ]
Then be an open book and tell me!

I suppose it's because I owe allegiance firstly to my peers from the war, and secondly to you. Despite not being particularly affectionate towards Hervey, I still do not appreciate you spying on him, or Jeremy. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate me spying on your peers.
Perhaps ask and I will. ... I was protecting Lady Elenor.
no subject
And I don't appreciate you using words like "spying" this entire time. I'm sorry I don't live up to your idea of how Silverbergs are... but this is what I do.
...
I'll.. understand if you want to work elsewhere.

[ She shrugs her shoulders uselessly. ]
I need to focus on finding a way back, anyway. Excuse me.
