EVENT: The Budehuc Ball
(( PART 2 has started! ))
The day of the ball is finally upon Budehuc, and there is a distinctive hum of excitement in the air at new life entering the quiet castle. The evening has just begun, and the weather is fantastically clear outside and still light. All day there has been the hustle and bustle of curious traders flocking to the castle to assess whether it is now a worthy trading place again, and there are many unfamiliar faces walking the castle grounds, exploring. Extensive preparations have been made, directed by none other than Sir Euram Barows himself!
“The ball will be an impressive display of the wealth, ingenuity and importance of the people of...what's this castle called again? Oh right, Budehuc. The theme: Bright new beginnings. Everything must be bright! Spread conversation pieces across the room; sculptures, art, a tapestry or two, that sort of thing. The oppressive grays of the stone need to be polished until they shine, or covered with more aesthetically pleasing tones. There must be a tablecloth, embroidered preferably, on every table and contrasting but matching drapes and flounces on the walls!”
These were the instructions given to the workers, and every detail, word for word, has been carried out… to the best of the workers’ abilities, anyway, because Euram’s vision is quite grandiose and Budehuc has hardly the materials available for such an event! The consequences of such instruction has resulted in Budehuc castle looking fairly colourful for a change, although the alterations appear to only be visible in well-traversed paths that lead to the ex-war room, which has now been transformed into a ballroom. The changes outside of the room include having moved any remaining sculptures and paintings still there from after the war to the front so that they can be seen.
Opening the door to the war room, however, is like opening the door to another world. It's an assault of color, all of it clashing quite horrendously. There are brightly colored tablecloths, rugs and flounces. If you look closer some of the flounces are in fact bed-sheets because they ran out of material due to the short time frame, and some of those bed-sheets appear to have been painted the appropriate color by the workers, probably to please Euramand get him to shut up.
Still, there are finger foods, fine wine and tankards of ale spread upon the tables at the outer edges of the room and a small band tucked away in the corner playing live music for the dancing guests in the middle. Waiters and waitresses are constantly moving around to set items of food or drinks down and pick up glassware.
The room is relatively quiet right now, with people sure to be trickling in and out as the night goes on!
(( OOC: Whew! Thank you very much to Junabi for providing an excellent description of the alterations that Euram has made to the castle! This post is basically a mingle post, so thread-jumping and replying to everybody is encouraged! You can start multiple threads wherever you want and everybody can reply to anyone! For re-reference, most people's outfits can be seen here.
Depending on when the first part of the ball slows down, a comment will be posted indicating "PART 2" and then you can play out the events at the conclusion of the night, after the ball has died down! ))

Bravo, you two! Now please get the hell off the stage, nobody cares about your lovers spat! God, Agnes, even when you quit you still manage to stay in the limelight! Annoying!

Oh, it's you, is it? Starved for attention are we, Lady Minen? Poor girl, has nobody asked you to dance tonight? Is that why you are so intoxicated?
[ She manages a very unfriendly smile, curtsying at Minen. She maybe feels somewhat... empowered? ... after hearing Caesar's words. ]
no subject
Ha.. haha... hahahahaha~~! Oh, I knew you were a petty one! If only you could see your face, gloating like a CHILD. Must have been a hell of a dance! Tell me, Lady Agnes, how is life in the unemployment line? [ Already sipping on a brand new martini. ]
no subject
I actually believe I will be getting my job back, thanks to what I've heard is an abysmal performance by my replacement. Are you too good to attend to your job, Lady Minen? What a pity! You had bragged so much about your capabilities!
no subject
Ahh, speaking of abysmal, is that the theme of your dress tonight? It barely looks different from your dirty housekeeping attire. I swear, those are your actual day-to-day boots!
no subject
no subject
Either way, it seems as if in my abysmal outfit, I've managed to have a much better night than you. It is almost as if personality counts for something, Lady Minen!
no subject
And now you preach of "personality", as if you're not overcompensating for your lack of natural assets! What is this, AA size? [ GROPES AGNES' BREAST, OMG SORRY ]
no subject
[ AGHDKLSFJDS she takes a step back when she gets groped and just -- what? She slaps Minen's hands away, obviously incredibly uncomfortable with that! But she still looks at her, incredulous. ]
R-really? A "personality" is just overcompensation for assets to you? Why, that explains a remarkable amount! [ And then she glances at Minen's chest, looking unimpressed. ] Not that you could compensate for your personality even if you wanted to!
[ omg falling down to her level ]
no subject
[ In a fit of pompous drunken rage, Minen spills her the rest of her martini at Agnes. COME AT ME BRO ]
no subject
All this, coming from the shrieking banshee who needs attention so badly!
[ She... grabs a glass of wine from the table next to her and throws it at Minen without thinking, and as soon as she completes this motion she comes to her senses, realising that she isn't a fighter and Minen is. She tries to distract her with words. ]
L-Look at yourself!
no subject
AHH, don't hold back now Agnes, the true colours have finally come out!! Why, you hopeless little CHILD--!!!
[ Soaking wet just like Agnes, Minen grabs the fabric of Agnes' sleeve without thinking ahead, only to trip up on one of her own loose ribbons. She topples towards Agnes, ripping the sleeve of her adversary's dress as she's falling. ]
no subject
G-Get off me!
no subject
Is that the best you can d--Stop that! I knew you were all bark and no bite!
[ Finally manages to get a grip on Agnes' arm and starts wrestling on the ground with her... if you can even call it that. She's using no military training whatsoever, just being a drunken spoiled brat. ]
no subject
arousing?awesome. ]no subject
no subject
Wh-what is happening? Minen?!
no subject
Y-you savage, get off!
no subject
no subject
You will never look down on me again!!
Never, ever, ever, ever, EVER!
no subject
*walks through the watching crowds, shouting for Roberto* Roberto? Roberto?! We need your help here!
no subject
[ She's too weak to get Minen off her, so just keeps shoving her hands at Minen's face since that seemed to be an effective tactic before. ]
no subject
Erin?! What's wrong--
[ When he sees the sight before him, though, he actually looks a little disgusted. He jumps into motion and quickly tries and grabs Minen by the waist to pry her off. ]
Minen. Get off, you're embarrassing yourself!
no subject
ROBERTO, I'LL KILL HER, I'LL K--[ BARFS. getting some on roberto, the one person who warned her about this at the start, omggg now she's really embarrassed. holding back the waterworks. ]
