EVENT: Summer Days

It has been a hot summer for Budehuc this year, and yet there is little to no signs about it coming to an end, even if the next season is expected to show around sometime in the near future.

The warmth of the sun seems to be inviting just about anyone to the lakeside, including the builders and locals from the neighbouring towns of Iksay and Nor. Some have come for the serenity and beautiful scenery, while others just want to have a swim or enjoy some water games. Keep your eyes out for flying beach balls and frisbees!

I'm saying no one is prefect and it's always better to be safe than sorry.

[Pulls himself back onto the dock with a big smile on his face]

You mean it's better to avoid having fun in front of someone who could be having fun but he's too much of a stick in the mud to stop working for ten minutes and take a swim.

I am on duty. Somebody has to be with this many people around in case something happens.

Are you ever not on duty. You can't take ten minutes to have some fun? You don't have another person that could cover for you for a time?

[Glances over at where Hervey's at (currently speaking with Minen and from the looks of it being threatened by her). He really would like to take a swim. But duty calls for someone to be the responsible one.]

The other guard is currently off duty, and will likely stay that way.

You mean he's out having fun on a gorgeous day. You can watch people from the water. It's not that hard to have fun.

Duty comes first. I am one of the guards here, and I take my responsibilities seriously.

I know how to have fun. I just know when to put my duty first.

[Out of the corner of his eye he sees two kids swimming out to far, so he turns to call to them] Not too far, guys.

Yes well, if you actually knew how to have fun you would know how to ask your partner to take over for you for a while.

[Scowls at that. 'Partner' is a word he will never describe Hervey as. Colleague, maybe. Fellow guard. Partner is for reserved for his real partner. Not some bad mannered former pirate]

He'd say no.

How do you know that if you don't ask him? Are you so childish as to even try having fun? How hard is it to say [puts on a hoity toighty high pitched voice] Hey fellow guard can you take over making sure the kids are safe for a little bit so I can have some fun? [removes the voice] It's not that hard.

You speak of matters of which you don't know and have no business knowing.

and you are scared to ask your coworker for help ya big baby

I believe you're finished. [Stands to his full height. His voice chilly.]

[There's a deck chair on the docks. He strides over and sits in it, eyes scanning the water]

Take my advice! Ask for some time to have fun. Or just sit and wallow in your snootiness!

[Backflips off the dock again and swims out to where his Gladiators were hitting around a volleyball]
