EVENT: Summer Days

It has been a hot summer for Budehuc this year, and yet there is little to no signs about it coming to an end, even if the next season is expected to show around sometime in the near future.

The warmth of the sun seems to be inviting just about anyone to the lakeside, including the builders and locals from the neighbouring towns of Iksay and Nor. Some have come for the serenity and beautiful scenery, while others just want to have a swim or enjoy some water games. Keep your eyes out for flying beach balls and frisbees!

[Watches from his place on the docks at all the people]

[Shoon and his fellow gladiators are all standing at the end of one of the docks with huge smiles on their faces]

KING OF THE DOCK!

[They all immediately begin shoving and throwing each other one by one off the end of the dock into the water]

Careful, there are children around.

[Currently the only one left on the dock]

I know, that's the best part! Look at their smiles.

[Helps another gladiator back onto the dock and then immediately throws him off again before posing]

And what if you fall on one of them?

They are grown men and can take care of themselves. Or are you talking about children? Because if you don't think we'd be careful about that you might be mistaking us for the bad guys.

And children are even more careless than adults. Which is I am asking you to be even more so.

[gladiatorfist]

Yes, and we're aware of everything in our surroundings. It's fun for us and whoever might be watching. Now stop being a wet blanket. Jump in and have some fun.

[Backflips off the end of the dock into the water]

[knowing he's probably talking to himself, but not caring]

There is a time and place for such horseplay. Around young children is not the time.

Look at them watching with smiles on their faces and tell me that again oh stick glorious stick in the mud.

And what if one of them decides to swim underneath one of you at the very last second before you can do anything? I am not accusing you of carelessness, I am merely asking that you to exercise more caution.

[gladiatorfist]

you are implying that we aren't aware of what is going on around us. Trust me we're aware.

I'm saying no one is prefect and it's always better to be safe than sorry.

[gladiatorfist]

[Pulls himself back onto the dock with a big smile on his face]

You mean it's better to avoid having fun in front of someone who could be having fun but he's too much of a stick in the mud to stop working for ten minutes and take a swim.

[Eyes narrowed]

I am on duty. Somebody has to be with this many people around in case something happens.

[Smirks]

Are you ever not on duty. You can't take ten minutes to have some fun? You don't have another person that could cover for you for a time?

[Glances over at where Hervey's at (currently speaking with Minen and from the looks of it being threatened by her). He really would like to take a swim. But duty calls for someone to be the responsible one.]

The other guard is currently off duty, and will likely stay that way.

You mean he's out having fun on a gorgeous day. You can watch people from the water. It's not that hard to have fun.

Duty comes first. I am one of the guards here, and I take my responsibilities seriously.

I know how to have fun. I just know when to put my duty first.

[Out of the corner of his eye he sees two kids swimming out to far, so he turns to call to them] Not too far, guys.

Yes well, if you actually knew how to have fun you would know how to ask your partner to take over for you for a while.

[Scowls at that. 'Partner' is a word he will never describe Hervey as. Colleague, maybe. Fellow guard. Partner is for reserved for his real partner. Not some bad mannered former pirate]

He'd say no.
