EVENT: Land of Eternity

A little before noon, there's a sudden, violent shaking of the earth, soon resonating with a series of loud cracks as the ground opens up in front of the manor, down the center of the courtyard, and elsewhere on the castle grounds. Although the tremors shake the builds, loosening roof tiles and disturbing the areas of new construction, nothing managed to completely fall.

And just like that, after only a few minutes, the worst of the quake ends and soon subsides to weaker tremors until, finally, it simply stops altogether.

((OOC: Thank you Lila for writing this up! Feel free to RP either during the big quake or the small tremors. If you want to RP your characters reaction after the quakes, it might be better to write up a new post so the order of events don't get mangled up in this post. ))

[ So that's it. His eyes widen a little before finally nodding. ]

...Given the destruction I'm sure it's caused by now, it would be in the residents' best interest to teleport them and yourself away from here as soon as possible. Leaving here myself may only cause more destruction.

Unfortunately I am not a Blinking Mage. I can only take a few at a time.

That should still help. If there are any injured, they should be taken away from here at once.

However my primary concern is you. Specifically True Earth.

[ Takes a deep breath again. ]

I appreciate the sentiment, but as you said, there's no need to worry about me.

[ As he says this, there's another sharp snap as the earth tears open somewhere outside.

You misunderstand. I am concerned with the True Runes. My fate and destiny has been, and forever will be tied to them.

For a long time I concerned myself with only the Sun and Night Runes and their children. That was an oversight. One I am correcting now.

I'm afraid I can't consent to such a vague answer. I have my own duty to this rune to consider as well.

I am willing to kill you if that's what will cause these quakes to cease. I will then present the rune to another that is worthy.

[ If there's one way to break his calm, it's that. With just his Guardian's Eye and flowing rune, he's not in a position to just brush off a threat. ]

Perhaps not, and killing you is the last option. I do not wish to cause you harm.

[ That's just plain coercion.

But he can't refuse in this case. Losing True Earth or his life is unacceptable. ]

[She raises her arms and waves magic- black, navy, and green, with dancing white lights, roll towards Sasarai, tangling together and imitating the night sky as it swirls around the bishop]

[ Being something he only read about before, it's both fascinating and unsettling to watch the spell as its target. It's a bit too much to stand, though, and as it moves around him, he ends up closing his eyes and clenching his fists. ]

[ladyofstars]

It'll be over soon.

[Finally the magic dissipates, first the lights, then the green, navy, and the black waves of energy vanish like smoke]

[ It's a few moments before he reopens his eyes, thinking the spells should be over then because he felt...off. It was after that that he noticed the shaking beneath them had noticeably calmed down.

He looked down at his hand. ]

How long will this last?

[ladyofstars]

The spell lasts about a day.

How long before True Earth acts up again is another matter. I've noticed True Fire flaring up at odd intervals, with days inbetween. I am not sure about the others. If we're fortunate, yours is the same.

I am afraid this is a situation where I do not have all the answers.

[ziemia]

That's fine. I couldn't expect you to.

This has never happened to me before, so with any luck, this will be the only time it "acts up".

If not, I will return to the Temple for the time being.

[ladyofstars]

It may come to that.

[Begins to move to the door] I will be in the library should anything else happens.

[ziemia]

[ Fleeing to the One Temple was a significantly better option than dying. He couldn't help but to feel some relief now. He wasn't controlling True Earth still, but it wasn't behaving as violently either. That was what counted at the moment. ]
