EVENT: Land of Eternity

A little before noon, there's a sudden, violent shaking of the earth, soon resonating with a series of loud cracks as the ground opens up in front of the manor, down the center of the courtyard, and elsewhere on the castle grounds. Although the tremors shake the builds, loosening roof tiles and disturbing the areas of new construction, nothing managed to completely fall.

And just like that, after only a few minutes, the worst of the quake ends and soon subsides to weaker tremors until, finally, it simply stops altogether.

((OOC: Thank you Lila for writing this up! Feel free to RP either during the big quake or the small tremors. If you want to RP your characters reaction after the quakes, it might be better to write up a new post so the order of events don't get mangled up in this post. ))

[Was near her shop when the quake hits and runs past the door. She's carrying Connie]

[ Chris is trying to remain as composed as possible while various loose objects in the manor are falling apart. She can be seen relaying some orders to infantry men as she helps everyone evacuate. ]

[ Holding on to the rails of the upper manor floor for some stability. ]

Th-this can't be happening..!

Caesar! What's happening!?

*Erin is urging the remaining guests to evacuate first. After making sure everybody has gotten out, she's running outside, but her step is halted when a piece of roof tile falls right in front of her.* A-Ahhh!

[ Tir had been away from the building, but he spun around again hearing Erin yell. ]

—Hey, come on! [ He reaches out to take her hand and pull her along. ]

[In the courtyard Zerase stands, trying to pinpoint the origin of the quake, she makes her way to the manor, moving like a ghost, after images following her as she walks, ignoring the fleeing residents.]

[ If there's anyone not fleeing now, it was the one responsible for the quake. Sasarai is still holed up in his room in the manor, sitting at the table and thankfully out of the way of the decorations that are steadily starting to collapse from the quake. With his hands clasped and his head bowed over them, it looks like the least peaceful prayer session ever. ]

[Sitting in his cart when the earthquake struck working on finalizing the script for the nights first show Shoon was jolted into action by the shaking of the ground. The shaking was bad enough that it shook over the stops placed in front of the wheels keeping it from rolling away. The cart started rolling down the slight incline it was on and smashed into one of the gladiator tents before finally stopping. Shoon jumped out and began frantically freeing the few Gladiators who were inside the tent when the quake hit and organized them into a search party. With a quick look he surveyed the damage done. 4 more of the housing tents had collapsed in the quake.]

Ok guys tent by tent, make sure everyone is out. Meet up in the main tent in 30 minutes for a headcount!

[ Scurrying around the castle grounds, making notes and trying to keep a headcount herself. ]

Mister Shoon! I'm glad you're okay!

[at least he's not out on the ship in his room, but being out in the courtyard is just as bad. Geddoe freezes at the first tremors, looking around for anyone casting magic, but no, this is a real earthquake. Very shortly after, he's forced to scramble backwards as the cracks split the courtyard and the very ground at his feet crumbles.]

...!

[nope, he won't even say anything in the middle of a crisis. But once it passes...]

...everyone all right?

[ As the small tremors still continue, Duke staggers around the carnage towards Geddoe. He is visibly irate. ]

I got dog piss on me.

[In the town square, near the fountain]

Everyone please stay away from the buildings! Over here please? Is anyone injured? I have a water rune.

[ Minen is alert and approaching him in a calmly manner, since the initial shock quickly wore down. ]

Do you need help with anything, child?

[Lorelai, still leaning on Grenseals shoulder get's led over to the small boy who seemed to be leading the safety efforts]

[Jeane emerges from her shop once the tremors finally subside. She takes in the damage around the town square, especially the enormous cracks in the ground.]

It's getting worse.

Hey. [ She observes Jeane for any visible injuries, as instructed by Louis. ] You're not hurt, are you?

[ A girl is crushed under a toppled bookshelf in the library. She doesn't seem injured, but isn't strong enough to lift it off herself either. Upon closer look, it appears this job requires two people. ]

Eeek!! Someone! HELP!!

[ Rushing out of his room in a state of some disarray, Nash barrels down the hallway. He's doing a quick inspection of every room he passes, making sure no one's trapped. When he sees the girl stuck in the library, he whistles for help, taking off his left glove and using his fingers so that the sound carries. ]

[ An elderly man is trying to descend the manor stairs, although it appears he twisted his ankle. ]

Th-this is terrible...

*Mukumuku is flying around, trying to avoid the shaking pillars, when he sees the old man. He approaches the old man in haste* M-mu?! Mumumu?

[Lorelai was sitting in the bar when the earthquake hit. She immediately reacted and started getting the people there under tables and into the doorways. Somewhere in the commotion one of the minor roof struts had managed to fall and smack her right in the forehead, leaving blood streaming down her face as she stumbled out into the courtyard]

This, this earthquake isn't natural.

Lorelai!

[Grenseal, having been in the courtyard, dashes to her and wraps an arm around her to steady her.] Let's get you away from the building.

[ Sierra had, luckily, not been sleeping when the earthquake hit; she could've quite possibly slept through the entire event. Instead, she had been in the dungeons, thinking idly as she stared at the prison cells.

Now, as the tremors continued to shake the castle, Sierra was flying out of the dungeons, her sense of direction in her bat form thrown off by all the shaking. She made it to the ground floor of the manor before switching back to her human form in the lobby, eyes narrowed as she surveyed the damage. ]

[ Chris is still making sure everybody is safe until she spots Sierra in the lobby. Was she there before? Hmm. ]

Lady Sierra, you must leave here at once. Can you walk?

[ After this. ]

[ With True Earth temporarily sealed and Zerase in the library, Sasarai was once again alone in his room and still glued to his chair. With Budehuc still being hit by lesser tremors, the bishop didn't try to move just yet. The rune was supposedly sealed, but the possibility of that seal breaking was still there. If it did break, he'd rather Budehuc was the only place affected.

On the bright side, despite being practically colorless and surrounded by broken objects, Sasarai was at least able to sit up properly and look somewhat normal. ]

[ Duke knocks on the door of Sasarai's room, despite the state of emergency. ]

Uh... your holiness? You in there..?

[He was out in the open when the tremors struck. The ground began to open beneath his feet and his first instinct was to run. He did, tripping up as the ground shook and falling flat on his face. Luckily he didn't fall into the crack in the ground, but it was a close thing*

Ow, shit...

[Comes running to him and leans down to help him up.]
